In this mini project we had the task to convince our client that our recommendation was the best solution and that it will ensure the greatest possible profit. The problem given to us was the following: The client is getting ready for a festival coming up next month. The client can paint 2 different types of painting. Pastels and Watercolors. But there are constraints that involve money and a limited amount of pictures painted. The material he for each pastel costs $5 and the material to create a watercolor is $15. The client has $180 to spend on materials. The client makes a profit of $40 for each pastel and $100 for each watercolor. Now that we know what the problem is asking we can solve it and make a recommendation. The way to find the best recommendation is to find the feasible region and then find the best value by going up the y-value but still able to create the x-value. In this project we had 4 different jobs for each person to do. Faris was in charge of Geogebra which is an online application that allows you to enter graphs and inequalities and what not. So he was the one who entered the numbers in. Eli was the spokesman which means that he presents our work to an audience and talk about what our solutions were. Jasmin was the Documenter, she was the one who would document all our work so that we would be organized. And I was the Facilitator, the facilitator is in charge of keeping the group on task and focussing on the problem. I was also the leader so if we didn't know what step was next I would tell my group what we had to do. A few things I think my fellow group member did well was the following. I think Faris did well at looking for patterns. I think he did well at this because as he was entering the points into geogabra and as he entered these points he was instantly able to see the fisable region and ect. I think Eli did well at describe and articulate. He did well at this because since he was the spokesman he was able to describe our work and explain what we did and why we did it. Jasmin was the documenter she was the one in charge of writing down all our work and she did really well at staying organized specially since her job was keeping track of all our work. I think I did well at starting small and in the beginning because I was able to tell my group what we had to do first. I think my group worked together really well, I think our group communicated really well together and we all were confident in each others solutions. I think a challenge that our group had was that we weren't always double checking our group work so if we got stuck we would have to backtrack. This challenge was overcame by when our client asked us a question so then we figured out that our work was done so we just knew that we had to overlook a few things. I think while I had the role of being the facilitator my biggest strength was being able to tell my group what we had to do next in case we weren't' sure what the next step to take was. I think I could've improved on participating more with my group instead of just telling them what to do I could've actually done it.
