In this project we used an online graphing application called Star Logo. This applications allows you to graph In this project we did multiple benchmarks and I'll go through the benchmarks so you understand what we did throughout this project, for benchmark #1 it was an idea of what we were gonna do to create on the star logo document. Mine was a basic design, it didn't really have a lot of detail because I didn't know how it would turn out because at the moment I wasn't confident in star logo. Basically every benchmark was an improvement of our 1st draft. Throughout each benchmark, we learned about rotation and angles, we also learned about online coding which was an interesting experiment. Each benchmark helped me create my final kaleidoscope. It helped me by realizing which designs looked good and how to create each agent. I think the benchmarks that actually helped me create my final product was benchmark #6 and #7. I thought this because benchmark #6 made me realize that I didn't like my original design so I wanted to change it. And Benchmark #7 is the file that I created my final benchmark and I created a new design but still having an idea from my first benchmark. Symmetry is parts that are made to face each other in the exact way the first object was placed. The kaleidoscope that I created is a diamond shaped object that is evenly split up between the 4 quadrants. Then at the tip of each angle in the quadrants there is a circle that is constantly changing colors but its changing the same colors as each of the other circles in the other sectors. Rigid Motion is the action of taking and object/shape and moving it to another space without alternating its shape or size. So basically you can Reflect the object or Translate it or Rotate it. I made my kaleidoscope by coping the exact motion in the first sector then I did the same coding but just changed the x and y setup for the agent. A few struggles I had with this project is that it was hard for me to learn a new code meaning that if I had to turn in a certain benchmark with certain angles I wouldn't know how to make the agent turn until around benchmark 3 or 4 then I actually started to do the assignment solo instead of having a partner which actually really helped me a lot. So I think that while learning coding is a lot easier doing without a partner cause your the one who actually gets to have hands on instead of just watching someone else do it. I think this application was kind of stupid at firs but then I started to like it as time went by because I actually knew what to do. I think this project wasn't as helpful to me or it will be to me in the future then other assignments like weekly problem set or any type of real math. A few success I had was when I was told that a certain benchmark wasn't completed correctly or I had to add something I think that after I got the critique I took it really well and actually applied it into Star logo where normally I take critique but don't really use it cause it doesn't make since. Another success I had was turning in the assignments except for 1 or 2 but other wise I turned in my benchmarks and files on time and got a good grade on them which I think is a big deal and part in my grade. Overall I think this project was fun but I think we could've learn about angles in a more educational and challenging way the new did so.
