During the first week I did a lot of annotation and reading scientific journals/papers in which I had lots of questions in what certain words mean as well as what points the authors were trying to get across. Multiple times I have to speak up and had to ask Dovi (my mentor) questions about what I am reading and currently I ask about different aspects in our project that we are trying to cover and what type of data we want to gain from our audience. Then as well as being introduced to fellow employees around the building, I usually have to explain my project to them which is form of speaking up for myself in what type of research I will be conducting over this month.
I haven't been following the guide but looking at it I usually am always trying to stay busy, know that there has been a lot of mail that needs to be sent out regarding fisherman outreach which takes a while. If there isn't anything I can do related to my project I usually go and help send them out. And I have also been introduced to new people everyday which has built up great character to the overall company in such that everyone knows everyone and that its a very friendly environment.
